Welcome! You have reached my main web page, designed to provide information to students and others about my teaching and research. I am a Professor in the Philosophy Department. I came to Chico State in 1991, after earning my Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.

I teach courses in Ethics, Social and Political Philosophy, and the Philosophy of Psychology. My early research was on whether evaluative judgments about individuals or societies can be objective; my more recent work has been on debates within biomedical ethics and political theory.

You may take a look at some of the details of my teaching, research, and other activities by using the menu bar.
